Developments in Israel with the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas’ attacks on the country’s territory were discussed on Monday in a meeting between the Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and Hadas Meitzad, the Israeli Ambassador to the country.

The Ministry of Foreign affairs said Darchiashvili confirmed to the Israeli diplomat his Government’s “strong support” for the country and condemned the attacks that have killed at least 700 people and injured over 2,315.

The Ministry also said the officials emphasised the existing close cooperation on “all current issues”.

Starting on Saturday, Hamas launched more than 5,000 rockets from Gaza into Israel territory, with the group’s fighters entering Israeli territories and kidnapping citizens, both alive and dead. The Israeli Government declared a state of war alert.
