The Tbilisi TV tower, one of the iconic sights of the Georgian capital, was on Monday illuminated in pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with the City Assembly revealing the symbolic move.
The Assembly also said a campaign with the involvement of the Tbilisi-based National Screening Centre would be joining events planned across the world throughout October to highlight the cause.
The non-governmental organisation Europa Donna Georgia is also involved in the event alongside the healthcare institution.
Pink October has been marked since 1997 worldwide to raise awareness of the disease.
