Tamar Taliashvili, Georgia's Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, on Wednesday said the Georgian Government “strongly condemned” Russia’s intention to hold illegal municipal elections in Ukraine’s occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions this fall.

In her social media post, the Georgian official stressed her country had witnessed “systematic conduct” of illegal elections in its own Russian-occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).
The Russian Central Election Commission adopted a resolution in the summer to hold the “elections” in Ukraine’s occupied territories on September 10, amid Moscow’s ongoing invasion of the country.
