Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said he was “deeply saddened” by the landslide that killed 24 in western Georgia’s Shovi resort on August 3 in a letter sent to the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, the Georgian Foreign Office said.
Extending his “sincere condolences” to the families of those killed in the disaster, the Serbian official wished a “speedy recovery” to those injured in the disaster that hit the resort in the country’s Oni municipality.
Nine individuals are still missing following the landslide, with at least 800 professionals involved in search and rescue efforts along with special hardware and necessary transport, Georgian officials said on Monday.
