Black Sea Arena, a concert venue in Georgia’s Black Sea town of Shekvetili, on Friday announced that as a result of consultations with the Government Administration, the scheduled concerts over the weekend would be cancelled following the tragic events in the western municipality of Oni, after a landslide killed at least 13 in the Shovi resort on Thursday.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to all those who have lost a family member, and our thoughts are with those who are still searching for their loved ones during these difficult times”, the Black Sea Arena team noted.

The team stressed it was time to direct “all our thoughts and efforts” to help those affected by the disaster and “eagerly anticipate better news for our gathering at future events”.

By the joint decision, the Nile Rodgers & Chic and FKJ concerts scheduled for August 5th and 6th, a series of shows promoting the country's tourism potential and showcasing it on the map of entertainment events around the world, as part of Starring Georgia, have been cancelled.
