Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Saturday signed a decree declaring Monday as a day of mourning to honour the victims of a landslide that hit western Georgia’s Shovi resort, killing at least 11 people on Thursday.
The flags will be at half mast in Georgia from 00:00 on August 7 to 00:00 on August 8, the Government Administration said.
In addition, flags will be lowered from 00:00 on August 8 to 00:00 on August 9 as a sign of honouring those who died during Russia’s large-scale military intervention in Georgia for the illegal occupation of the country’s Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) regions.
