Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Tuesday congratulated employees of the State Security Service on their professional day and noted their “high professionalism and patriotism” as being of “utmost importance”.
In his congratulatory message for the eighth anniversary of the body, Garibashvili noted the Service had proved to be an “independent institution of modern European standards in a short period of time”.
[The Service] effectively ensures detection, prevention and suppression of internal and external threats, fights terrorism and corruption, protects the safety of every citizen as well [their] basic human rights and freedoms, the country's constitutional structure, sovereignty and territorial integrity at the highest level”, Garibashvili said.
The Government head stressed the work of the Service’s professionals was often associated with risks to their life or health, and honoured the memory of “heroic” professionals who died in the line of duty.
The high professionalism and patriotism of each employee of the Security Service is of utmost importance in the process of protecting the stability of the state and moving towards the main goals of our country and people”, he noted.
Garibashvili further extended his gratitude to the professionals for their “high professionalism, dedication to work and loyalty to the country”, and vowed “continued” support for them.
