Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Friday attended the opening ceremony of the 31st FISU World University Games, a multi-sport event hosted in Chengdu, the capital of the Sichuan Province of China, the Government administration said.
The Chinese President Xi Jinping hosted high-level guests at the Sport Park Stadium, the Administration added.
The opening ceremony featured Georgian students, who would compete in judo, water polo, diving and swimming events at the university games.

This year 40 Georgian students from different domestic higher education institutions are competing in the event, with the competition scheduled to end on August 8.
