Author talks, readings of literature and exhibition and sale of books will be in the programme awaiting visitors of Ze-Kartan, a festival hosted in the mountainous parts of western Georgia’s Adjara region in September.
The regional municipalities of Keda, Khulo and Shuakhevi will see 25 authors, including invited participants from Ukraine and Turkey, introduce their work to book enthusiasts.
Organisers also said they would host an exhibition and sale of books to address a lack of bookstores in mountainous Adjara.
Visitors will also be invited to a screening of Namme, a 2017 feature by Georgian director Zaza Khalvashi that was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film prize at the 2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival.
They will also be met by an exhibition of works by photographer Dina Oganova, who is recognised for her work in portraits, including around questions of women's rights and gender equality.
Shows of folk bands and Tbilisi Women’s Choir, as well as exhibitions of local crafts are also planned for the event that is set to host its 11th edition between September 4-6.
