German KfW bank delegation inspecting energy network projects financed in Georgia

A delegation from the German state development and reconstruction bank KfW is visiting Georgia between Wednesday and Friday to inspect the implementation of projects supported by the institution in the country, the Embassy of Germany to Georgia announced on Tuesday.

The Embassy said meetings were planned at the Georgian State Electrosystem, where the visitors would observe the central management system of energy networks.

They are also scheduled to discuss energy independence, renewable energy and the role of the Georgian electricity sector in the European Energy Union.

The delegation will also meet officials at the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture and the Agency for Protected Areas, as well as members of the Caucasus Nature Foundation and the World Wide Fund for Nature in the country.

A meeting with the Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi is also a part of the agenda of the bank representatives, along with a visit to the central-western Georgia's Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park.
