Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Teimuraz Janjalia on Wednesday said the meeting of Georgian ambassadors to European Union member states, set to launch in Berlin later today, would focus on the country’s European integration process.
In his remarks over the event, Janjalia noted the envoys would exchange opinions on ways of introducing information about the work of the Georgian Government to the country’s partners from across the EU.
[W]e will discuss relations with specific EU countries, as well as cooperation in multilateral formats. Also, what is most important, in this format we are very actively discussing the European integration process of Georgia”, Janjalia said.
“Also, of course, the meeting will focus on the activities carried out by the Georgian authorities and the first report, the first enlargement package, which Georgia has already delivered to the European Union”, he added.
This is the format in which already in the fall, the European Commission will prepare a report on Georgia's status as a candidate. This is very important”, the Deputy Minister pointed out.
Georgia’s diplomatic missions abroad work “24 hours a day” to keep partner states “as informed as possible” about the efforts being made by the Government “both inside and outside the country”, Janjalia also noted.
Georgia's Ambassador to Germany Levan Izoria noted the meeting, set to be opened by Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, would have a particular focus on Germany’s support for Georgia’s European integration.
