Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Sunday attended the closing event of Europe Day, having been celebrated this weekend in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi.
In his speech, Garibashvili thanked everyone attending the evening, including Pawel Herczynski, the European Union Ambassador to Georgia, Ulrik Tideström, the Ambassador of Sweden to the country and Tbilisi City Mayor Kakha Kaladze.

He noted the closing day of the celebration at Orbeliani Square was dedicated to Sweden - the country holding the current Presidency of the Council of the EU, and wished the guests a “pleasant evening”.
The Head of the Government said during the celebration of Europe Day, Georgia’s capital had hosted Spanish Day on Saturday, as the country was set to take over the EU presidency from July.

The two-day Europe Day events, organised by the Government Administration, showcased Spanish and Swedish culture, cuisine and traditions. The event will close with the performance of Swedish folk singer Sofia Karlsson and Stockholm-based professional a cappella group Riltons Vänner.
