Sectoral cooperation between the Georgian Government and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in areas including infrastructure was discussed on Tuesday in a meeting between officials from the country and Mark Bowman, the EBRD Vice President for Policy and Partnerships.
Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili, Regional Development and Infrastructure Minister Irakli Karseladze and Health Minister Zurab Azarashvili met the Bank representative in the discussions, the Ministry of Finance said.
The sides reviewed specific areas of sectoral cooperation - including infrastructure projects, economic and structural reforms and ongoing EBRD-supported health programmes - as well as projects of regional importance for increasing connectivity in the Black Sea region.
The meeting also focused on the current macroeconomic, monetary and fiscal parameters of the country, with the officials noting Georgia's “high and sustainable” economic growth despite challenges in the region.
Bilateral willingness for continuing the partnership for implementing both structural and economic reforms was acknowledged at the meeting of the sides.
