Joint projects in Georgia’s education system were discussed on Wednesday in a meeting between the country’s Minister of Education and Science Giorgi Amilakhvari and the British Ambassador Mark Clayton.
Amilakhvari thanked Clayton for “many years of cooperation” and noted a number of “important initiatives” had been implemented for the development of the country’s education and science fields within the “fruitful partnership” between the countries, the Ministry said.
The officials also reviewed cooperation mechanisms between universities and research institutes of Georgia and the United Kingdom.
The meeting also focused on a new concept of distance and online education, and introduction of joint and dual programmes in higher educational institutions of Georgia.
The British Ambassador expressed his “full readiness” to expand future cooperation, and emphasised the close partnership between the two countries would become “even more active”.
