The United Kingdom’s Foreign Secretary James Cleverly on Friday visited Georgia’s Digital Governance Agency, a body operating under the Justice Ministry and tasked with facilitating introduction of digital services and technology in public governance of the country.

Making the visit as part of his official visit to the country, Cleverly was introduced to the specifics of the work of the Agency’s Computer Incident Assistance Team and information technology infrastructure monitoring systems, the Ministry said.

The Georgian Deputy Justice Minister Erekle Gvinianidze and Agency Chair Davit Nadirashvili thanked the British official for the support provided through the British-Georgian Cybersecurity Partnership Programme.

Within the framework of the Programme, Georgia receives support from Britain for the implementation of the national cybersecurity strategy, the development of an interagency framework for information sharing, the development of public-private cooperation, and the raising of public awareness of cyber threats.
