Georgia’s Special Investigation Service on Monday arrested an individual who has been charged with leaking private materials of a partner online.
Identifying the arrested offender only through his initials, the Service said he had secretly taken photographs of a female partner between December 2021 and March 2022.
He then sent the photographs to contacts of his former partner using a fake Facebook profile, the investigative body added.
The state body said the Prosecutor’s Office had charged the offender under the criminal code article related to “breach of confidentiality of personal information”.
The crime is punishable by imprisonment for a term of between six to nine years.
