PM Garibashvili, Gov’t representatives joined night liturgy on Easter Eve

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili together with his spouse and the representatives of the Georgian Government joined the liturgy service held last night at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi to celebrate Easter, the resurrection of the martyred Christ.

The liturgy was led by the Catholicos Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II and the Senaki and Chkhorotsku Metropolitan Shio Mujiri, who is the Patriarch’s 'locum tenens'.

Before the start of the liturgy, congregants gathered at the Holy Trinity Cathedral and listened to the Easter Epistle of the Patriarch of Georgia and later, they were also able to receive the Holy Fire brought from Jerusalem to Georgia by a charter flight last night.

Garibashvili and his spouse received Eucharist during the liturgy and were blessed by the Catholicos Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II.

Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi, as well as representatives of the executive and legislative authorities, also attended the Easter liturgy, which lasted until the early hours of this morning.
