Georgian Football Federation, diplomatic representatives discuss hosting UEFA U21 European Championship in country

The representatives of the Georgian Football Federation and the foreign diplomats accredited in the country on Saturday discussed the 2003 UEFA U21 European Championship, to be hosted in Georgia and Romania this year.

The President of the Federation, Levan Kobiashvili, along with the Tournament Director Davit Mujiri and Tournament Ambassador Aleksandre Iashvili, as well as the Project Manager Irakli Nakaidze, briefed the diplomatic missions on the planned activities within the tournament, the GFF said.

The diplomatic representatives of the U21 European Championship participant countries, including the Netherlands, England, Germany, the Czech Republic, Israel and Romania, as well as France, Italy, Switzerland, Norway and Spain, attended the working meeting.

Georgia and Romania were selected to host the European Under-21 Championship in 2020. The games of the Championship - scheduled between June 21 - July 8 - will run in Georgia’s capital city of Tbilisi, the country’s western Kutaisi and the Black Sea city of Batumi.
