Georgian police on Saturday arrested one individual for damaging and destroying an object by setting a fire, after a blaze broke out at the four-storey building of Ambassadori Hotel in the central part of Georgia’s capital Tbilisi.
The investigation established that the accused had been a guest staying in one of the rooms of the hotel and had started the fire, which later spread to the third and fourth floors of the building.
The fire, which broke out later on Friday, was completely extinguished by 16 fire-rescue crews of the Emergency Situations Management Service, the Interior Ministry said.
The crime is punishable by three to five years in prison.
