German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock ended her two-day official visit to Georgia later on Friday, with her Georgian counterpart Ilia Darchiashvili escorting her to the Tbilisi International Airport for the official departure ceremony.

Within the frame of the first official visit to Georgia, Baerbock and Darchiashvili held a press briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry said.
The German diplomat discussed cooperation between Georgia and Germany and the country’s European integration with the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. She was also hosted by the country’s President Salome Zourabichvili.
The German FM also met the domestic opposition, civil sector and students during her visit.
Baerbock visited the Administrative Boundary Line separating central Georgia’s Russian-occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region from the rest of the country and got acquainted with the current situation on the spot.

The German official paid her respects at the Heroes Memorial, who had died in the fight for the unity of Georgia.
