Georgian domestic exports up 20.3% in January-February

Georgia has exported locally produced goods worth $914.8 million between January and February, which is 20.3 percent higher year-on-year, the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia show.

Geostat said local exports in the country had accounted for 54.3 percent of total exports in the reporting period, amounting to $497.2 million, 10.6 percent lower compared to January-February 2022.

Georgia’s top trading partners were:

  • Russia - $107 million
  • China - $106.1 million
  • Turkey - $57.1 million
  • Bulgaria - $34.5 million
  • Armenia - $26.1 million

The five largest domestic export goods of Georgia are as follows:

  1. Copper ores and concentrates - $143.3 million (28.8% of total exports)
  2. Ferro-alloys - $71.7 million (14.4%)
  3. Wine from fresh grapes - $34.4 million  (6.9%)
  4. Nitrogenous fertilisers - $21.04 million  (4.2%)
  5. Gold unwrought or in semi-manufactured forms, or in powder form - $16.34 million  (3.3%)
