Coronavirus: Georgia reports 1,053 new cases, 7 deaths

Georgia has reported 1,053 new Covid-19 cases, 2,067 recoveries, and seven deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the last 14 days stands at 7.19 percent.

Overall 25,013 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 21,614 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 19,284 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 2,330 were PCR tests. 

1,643,295 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,601,578 of 1,643,295 patients have recovered, while 16,678 have died from the virus.

The 1,053 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 447 cases 
  • Adjara - 34 cases 
  • Imereti - 143 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 37 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 65 cases 
  • Guria - 84 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 99 cases 
  • Kakheti - 76 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 28 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 13 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 27 cases

A total of 766 are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. Currently, 208 people are undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.

24,247 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,356,735 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,253,736 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 43.5 percent of the country’s adult population and 232,573 have received booster shots of the vaccine.
