Georgia reports 368 new cases of coronavirus, 8 deaths

Georgia has reported 368 new Covid-19 cases, 1,225 recoveries, and eight deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the last 14 days stands at 8.23 percent.

Overall 26,034 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 5,885 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 3,783 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 2,102 were PCR tests. 

1,642,242 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,599,511 of 1,642,242 patients have recovered, while 16,671 have died from the virus.

The new Omicron variant of coronavirus accounts for the majority of confirmed Covid-19 cases.

The 368 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 193 cases 
  • Adjara - 16 cases 
  • Imereti - 48 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 12 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 4 cases 
  • Guria - 27 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 14 cases 
  • Kakheti - 41 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 6 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 4 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 3 cases

A total of 813 are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. Currently, 220 people are undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.

25,221 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,356,232 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,253,736 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 43.5 percent of the country’s adult population and 232,573 have received booster shots of the vaccine.
