Georgia reports 5,326 new cases of coronavirus, 3,044 recoveries, 48 deaths

Georgia has reported 5,326 new Covid-19 cases, 3,044 recoveries, and 48 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days has increased to 8.86%.

Overall 42,439 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 55,474 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 32,029 of the 55,474 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 23,445 were PCR tests. 

979,235 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 922,411 of 979,235 patients have recovered, while 14,359 have died from the virus.

The 5,326 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 3,148 cases 
  • Adjara - 563 cases 
  • Imereti - 437 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 176 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 277 cases 
  • Guria - 148 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 226 cases 
  • Kakheti - 178 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 92 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 66 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 15 cases

Overall, 1,009 cases of the Omicron variant have been confirmed in the country as of January 13.

A total of 4,436 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,047 of the 4,436 patients are in critical condition. 293 of the 1,047 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.

35,928 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

34,035 individuals are in self-isolation.

Overall, 1,303,902 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,183,683 people have been fully vaccinated.
