Georgian Defence Minister to meet NATO counterparts on Wednesday

Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze will take part in an extraordinary meeting of NATO Ministers of Defence on Wednesday in Brussels, the press office of the alliance announced on Monday. 

Along with his Ukrainian, Finnish and Swedish counterparts and Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Burchuladze is set to meet  NATO counterparts at the alliance's headquarters in Brussels. 

Prior to the session, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg will make a joint statement together with United States Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin, after which the meeting of the Georgian, Ukrainian, Finnish and Swedish Defence Ministers is scheduled with Borrell and the North Atlantic Council. 

On February 17, along with his Ukrainian colleague Oleksii Reznikov, the Georgian Defence Minister held several high-level meetings with foreign partners and delivered a speech during a meeting of NATO ministers in Brussels, emphasising support and solidarity for Ukraine and noting its common security challenges with Georgia.
