PM Garibashvili meets French Ambassador to discuss Georgia's EU membership bid

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Diego Colas, the French Ambassador to Georgia, earlier today to discuss the country’s application for EU membership and recent developments in Ukraine.

The Georgian PM welcomed the decision of the European Council to submit its opinions on the applications for EU membership by Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine during the conversation, said Government Administration.

At the meeting, the head of the Georgian Government noted the role of France - as the country holding the presidency of the Council of the European Union - was crucial in supporting Georgia in the application process.

It was also highlighted that Georgia would continue its political support to Ukraine, as well as the humanitarian aid that was sent to the Ukrainian people by the decision of the Georgian PM.
