The Georgian government has decided to designate bus routes to transport Georgian citizens from Ukraine’s western city of Lviv to Poland’s capital Warsaw in the wake of Russia’s ongoing military invasion.
Made in coordination with Georgia’s Foreign Ministry, the initiative will see 50 passengers per bus collected from Lviv’s 1 Universitetskaya Street every morning from 8 to 9 am local time between March 6-10.
Passengers are asked to call the numbers +380 (63) 376 77 68; +380 (63) 376 73 64 for registration for the transportation.
Georgia’s diplomatic missions to Kyiv, Odessa and Lviv continue operating in emergency 24-hour working modes to help the Georgian citizens to evacuate from Ukrainian territory due to war, the Georgian MFA said.
Russia began its military assault on Ukraine last week, following President Putin’s announcement of the recognition of the independence of the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Luhansk on February 21.
The international community has condemned the invasion, expressing support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
