25 injured in fireworks-related incidents with New Year’s Eve looming

Twenty-five individuals have been injured from fireworks-related incidents throughout the country, Guga Kashibadze, the Head of the Burns Centre at the Khechinashvili University Hospital in Tbilisi, told Rustavi 2 TV channel on Friday.

Kashibadze revealed the figure ahead of the New Year’s Eve celebrations, and called the public for caution in their use of pyrotechnics for celebrating the date.

He also said safety rules in the use of fireworks should be “strictly followed” during the holiday season.

Dozens of individuals, including minors, are annually reported injured in incidents involving improper use of fireworks in end-of-year celebrations across the country.
