Thirty-nine people, including nine children, were injured in fireworks accidents across Georgia during New Year’s Eve festivities in the country, the Emergency Management Service said on Monday.
The Service confirmed to Interpressnews the injuries had come in incidents between December 31 and January 3.
It also said injuries in 24 out of 39 cases had required hospitalisation for those involved.
In separate figures, the Service said 500 cases of food poisoning and alcohol intoxication had been identified, with 128 cases leading to hospital admissions.
