The Georgian National Competition Agency on Thursday said its study of the domestic glass waste collection and recycling market had identified “no risks of violation” of regulations in the sector.

The national body also noted there was “no basis for continuous monitoring" of companies involved in the activities following the satisfactory results.

In its summary of the market, the Agency also said its annual capacity did not exceed ₾2 million ($0.74mln), but added the number of individuals and organisations the waste was being collected from had increased following a recent entry of a new waste collection company in the sector.

It also noted 80 percent of glass waste generated domestically was expected to be recycled by 2030.
