Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili on Saturday welcomed the signing of the agreement on a strategic green energy development partnership between Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania and Hungary, calling it “a major historical step”.
In her tweet, Zourabichvili said the green energy cable would link the Caucasus region to the European Union, turning the Black Sea into a “European sea” and a “bridge” connecting both sides.
I welcome the signature today of the green energy cable that will link the Caucasus to the European Union as a major historical step. It means that the Black Sea is now a bridge connecting both sides and it is becoming a European sea.
