Georgia’s capital Tbilisi is hosting the first-ever series of consultations between high-ranking diplomats of Georgia and the Western Balkan countries of Albania, Montenegro, Serbia and North Macedonia on matters related to their European integration.
The main goal of the consultations is to create formats for mutual sharing of experience accumulated in the process of European integration processes of participating countries “at the working level”, the Georgian foreign office said.
The visiting Western Balkans delegation is holding meetings at Georgian ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economy and Sustainable Development, Justice, Defence, Environment Protection and Agriculture, as well as the Parliament and the National Bank as part of the discussions.
They will also have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with individual directions of reforms implemented in the country, from provision of services to citizens to the operation of the Emergency Response Centre.
In addition, a meeting will be held at the NATO and European Union Information Centre with representatives of the civil sector working on issues of European integration of Georgia.
