Five servicemembers of the Georgian Defence Forces were on Tuesday awarded for their service as part of a Defence Ministry project aimed at raising motivation and combat readiness of the country’s military personnel, the state body said.
Major General Giorgi Matiashvili, the Chief of the GDF, awarded the soldiers with the title of Best Servicemember in the event.
Captain Elguja Shekiladze, Corporal Paata Sabiashvili, Sergeant Giorgi Kvrivishvili, Sergeant Gigla Janelidze and Senior Lieutenant Shota Mekheshidze were handed certificates and badges for their service.
The Ministry said the criteria for the title included discipline, physical and combat training, quality of performance of assigned duties, decisionmaking ability and teamwork.
