Georgia's path to joining the European Union was discussed on Thursday in a meeting between the Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and Koen Lenaerts, the President of the EU Court of Justice.
Papuashvili emphasised the progress of the Georgian Government in harmonising legislation with the EU, the Parliament press office said.

On his part, Lenaerts welcomed the process and wished the country’s Parliament success in implementing further reforms.
We exchanged views on the EU's justice system [and] engagement of aspiring countries into the Court of Justice processes”, Papuashvili said, adding the harmonisation of the legal systems was progressing “hand in hand”.
