The Counterintelligence Department of the State Security Service of Georgia arrested three individuals for making and selling forged documents, the Service said on Saturday.
“High-quality” forged documents of different countries, including driving licences, diplomas and identity cards, as well as other types of documents, have been seized after the searches of the offenders’ dwelling places in different regions of the country.
The state body has been simultaneously collecting additional evidence against certain individuals related to or involved in the criminal case, with the possibility of initiating criminal proceedings against them.
The crime is punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to six years.
