Fikrat Mammadov, the minister of justice of Azerbaijan, on Friday awarded his Georgian counterpart Rati Bregadze with the state medal for contributions to the development of legal relations between the two countries.
Mammadov delivered the state medal, related to the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijani justice, on behalf of president Ilham Aliyev, the Georgian justice ministry said.
Mammadov is on a visit to Georgia within the framework of the Georgian-Azerbaijani legal forum.
The forum is held in the city of Batumi and focused on further strengthening the sectoral cooperation between the partner states.
Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili and Fikrat Mammadov, the justice minister of Azerbaijan, on Thursday discussed relations between the two countries and prospects of future partnership.
The “high level” of strategic partnership relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan was discussed in a call between Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ali Asadov on Friday.

Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Tuesday said he had discussed “long-standing strategic partnership, prospects and huge potential” between Azerbaijan and Georgia during the visit of Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev on Monday.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Thursday said Georgia and Azerbaijan would contribute to making the South Caucasus more stable through their “exemplary partnership”, stressing the “common goal” and “desire” for achieving stability in the region.
