NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Tuesday said working with the alliance’s “partner” Georgia has been “even more important” against the background of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Before the meeting of the EU foreign affairs council with defence ministers in Brussels, Stoltenberg stated that the alliance would have an opportunity to express its “strong” support for Ukraine at the upcoming NATO foreign affairs ministers’ meeting in Bucharest.
Jens Stoltenberg said the implementation of NATO's defence and deterrence decisions would be discussed at the ministerial, as well as ways to strengthen support for Ukraine, and noted there would be meetings with partner countries, including the “important partner” Georgia, adding the importance of working with “partners like” Georgia would be “one of the messages” at the ministerial.
