Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Thursday said his country could play an “important role” for diversification of transport routes and ensuring Europe's energy supply on the backdrop of challenges sparked by ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
The prime minister made the remark at a Tbilisi meeting with Czech foreign minister Jan Lipavsky, calling his country a “reliable ally” of the EU in the region and adding the visit of the minister during the Czech Republic’s chairmanship of the Council of the EU reaffirmed “strong support” for Georgia’s European integration.
In the latter context, the officials welcomed the “important progress” of the country on its integration path, noting a number of “important and interesting discussions” held at the European Political Community summit in Prague last month.
