Finance minister reviews post-pandemic economic challenges at OECD panel discussion

Georgian finance minister Lasha Khutsishvili on Wednesday reviewed the post-pandemic economic challenges in the country in his address at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development high-level panel discussion on Overcoming the Current and New Challenges of Transparency and Information Exchange.

During his speech Khutsishvili spoke about the role of cooperation and exchange of information in the tax field in the process of overcoming post-pandemic challenges and highlighted the “successful dynamics” of Georgia's cooperation with the Global Forum on Transparency and Information Exchange for Tax Purposes, as well as the reforms carried out by the country in terms of the development of the global standard of transparency and information exchange, the finance ministry said.

Grace Perez Navarro, the deputy director of the OECD's Centre for Tax Policy and Administration, moderated the panel discussion, held within the framework of the 15th annual plenary meeting of the forum in Seville, with the participation of the Georgian finance minister and his Spanish counterpart María Jesús Montero, the deputy prime minister of Samoa, Tuala Iosefo Ponifasio, and Jutta Urpilainen, the European Union commissioner for International Partnerships.
