Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Saturday congratulated Ana Robakidze, the founder and CEO of Theneo and her team on winning the Pitch contest at the “most important” startup event, Web Summit 2022 on Friday and said this “great” victory would give “more motivation” to the development of “entrepreneurial spirit” and innovative ideas in Georgia.
Garibashvili noted the achievement of the AI platform “once again” confirmed the competitiveness of Georgian startups in the international market and emphasised that the government's efforts were aimed at building a “knowledge-based” economy, vowing it would continue to support innovative projects of “talented young people”, the government administration said.
The head of the government stressed that the Theneo project had been implemented with the support of the government and by the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency’s co-financing grants programme, which had been won by the startup in 2021, receiving the ₾100,000 (about $37,000) grant.
Georgian startup Theneo on Friday won a Pitch contest, among 2,300 startups representing hundreds of countries worldwide, held within the framework of the “large-scale” technological conference Web Summit in Portugal’s capital city of Lisbon.
