Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili’s visit to Hungary had a “special significance”, as the country has been an “outstanding supporter” of Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, Ilia Darchiasvhili, the Georgian foreign minister said on Thursday.
Darchiashvili said the visit would bring “concrete, tangible” results on the path of Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration, and noted that the existing “successful” bilateral relations, established over the years between Georgia and Hungary, would move to a “new level”, adding the cooperation would be “even stronger”, the foreign ministry said.
The foreign minister emphasised that “priority” directions for strengthening ties between the countries would include trade and economic relations, as well as cooperation in the educational field.
We count on Hungary as a strong supporter of our country. For Georgia to successfully continue to move in the direction of its foreign priorities, Hungary, together with other partners, will be one of the countries that will be able to help and support our country very loudly and effectively”, Darchiashvili noted.
Darchiashvili also highlighted the “very interesting” and “in-depth” discussions on how to strengthen and deepen relations between Georgia and Hungary, and said he was sure that after the visit the countries would have even more “dynamic and more “result-oriented” cooperation.
