Foreign ministry urges Georgian citizens in Ukraine to follow security measures

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has urged Georgian citizens in Ukraine to follow recommendations of the Ukrainian government on security measures on the ground, after Russia moved in troops into the country on Thursday.
In its response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the ministry said the occupant’s actions will have severe consequences not only for Ukraine, but also for the entire international community.

The ministry also said Georgian diplomatic institutions in Ukraine continued to work on the ground in an emergency mode, on the backdrop of the escalation in the crisis around the country.
Georgian foreign minister David Zalkaliani has called Russia’s military action against Ukraine “totally intolerable,” calling on international partners to “give a strict response” to the violation of the international law and “ensure de-escalation” of the situation in the country.
