Following an explosion on Saturday at the corner of Kutateladze and Lagidze streets in Georgia's capital Tbilisi, Georgian police arrested a previously convicted person for the attempted murder of two or more people, as well as the illegal purchase and possession of ammunition, explosive substances or explosive devices.
The ministry of internal affairs said the investigation established that the accused had had a quarrel with four people on Lagidze street, during which he had thrown a hand grenade in their direction.
Three individuals were injured as a result of the explosion and are receiving “appropriate” medical care in the hospital.
The crime is punishable by 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
