Georgia, Türkiye and Azerbaijan have held the joint military exercise Caucasus Eagle 2022 with the aim of sharing experience and improving professional capacity in multinational environment, the Georgian defence ministry said on Wednesday.
Hosted at the Vaziani military base near capital Tbilisi and attended by major general Giorgi Matiashvili, the chief of Georgian Defence Forces, the manoeuvres involved drills in free fall parachuting, assault using armoured vehicles and landing from An-2 aircraft, the state body said.
In the exercise, the special forces of the three countries are sharing their experience within fire and medical training and scenarios of special operations in populated areas.
The trilateral military drills are held annually in the three countries on a rotational basis, with Türkiye hosting the exercise last year.
