Security environment in the Black Sea region, Russia's military aggression in Ukraine and challenges facing Georgia were discussed on Thursday in Brussels in a meeting between the Georgian defence minister Juansher Burchuladze and admiral Rob Bauer, the chair of the NATO military committee.

Burchuladze thanked Bauer for his “strong support” for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the country’s aspiration to NATO integration, the defence ministry said.

 

He also noted the document for Georgia-tailored assistance measures - adopted at the NATO summit this year - and its implementation helped the country increase its defence capabilities and bring the defence and security sector closer to NATO standards.
