$28mln allocated for gas infrastructure, $318mln for agriculture, small, medium-sized businesses - PM

Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Friday said ₾80 million ($28 mln) would be allocated for providing natural gas supply to all regions of Georgia, while ₾900 million ($318mln) would be spent on agriculture and for development of small and medium-sized businesses in the country.

Garibashvili said the government's plan involved completion of gas infrastructure to locations without access to the energy resource “in two years”. 

Agriculture will receive ₾590 million ($208mln) next year for further development, which includes amelioration, agricultural credits and insurance, the Plan the Future state programme and other initiatives aiming to finance enterprises.

Garibashvili also said that in order to support small and medium-sized businesses the Produce in Georgia state programme will receive 260 million ($92mln) next year.
