Speaker of the Georgian parliament Shalva Papuashvili on Wednesday condemned the “pseudo referendums” held across Ukraine's eastern, Russian-occupied regions this week.
Papuashvili stressed Ukraine's territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders must be respected.
“We condemn and do not recognise any pseudo referenda conducted across Ukraine's Eastern regions occupied by Russia. Borders cannot be changed by force”, the head of the legislative body tweeted.

Earlier today, the Georgian foreign ministry condemned the illegal referendums held in the four regions.
Georgian president Salome Zourabichvili on Tuesday stressed the move was an “extremely cynical” action on the part of Russia, calling the holding of the referendums “completely unacceptable for civilised people”.
