Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili on Friday condemned the recently held “referendums” on joining Russia in Ukraine’s four Russian-occupied areas by the Kremlin-installed governments, stressing that “formalising sham referendum to support a blatant violation of international law and forceful annexation has no legitimacy, no future”.

We reject such gross violations of international law and reiterate our full support to Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
In her tweet, Zourabichvili once again expressed her support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and said Georgia “rejects such gross violation of international law”.
The polls, announced by the Russian President Vladimir Putin last Wednesday, along with the partial military mobilisation, have been blasted by Tbilisi and the international community.
In the sham referendums, held amid the Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine, nearly four million people from the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, and the southern regions of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, were invited to vote, with the puppet authorities claiming that an “unprecedented majority of residents” said yes to joining Russia on Tuesday evening.
Moscow could officially claim the regions - around 15 percent of Ukraine - next week, international media reported.
