Coronavirus: Georgia reports 14,405 new cases, 42 deaths

Georgia has reported 14,405 new Covid-19 cases, 24,409 recoveries, and 42 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days stands at 32.04 percent.

Overall 161,827 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 48,595 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 30,616 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 17,979 were PCR tests. 

1,526,205 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,348,581 of 1,526,205 patients have recovered, while 15,771 have died from the virus.

The 14,405 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 7,040 cases 
  • Adjara - 825 cases 
  • Imereti - 2,014 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 734 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 841 cases 
  • Guria - 447 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 565 cases 
  • Kakheti - 948 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 261 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 199 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 76 cases

A total of 5,818 are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,255 patients are in critical condition out of which 294 are on artificial ventilation.

154,996 people are undergoing treatment at home.

Overall, 1,345,661individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,238,784 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 43.1 percent of the country’s adult population and 206,865 have received booster shots of the vaccine.
