Georgia's investment value and opportunities were discussed on Friday by Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili and 13 International investment consultants on visit to the country from the United States, Europe and Asia.

The meeting discussed Georgia's “unique role” in connecting Europe and Asia, as well as opportunities the country  offers in the economy, tourism, energy, transport and communication sectors, the Economy Ministry press office said.

Davitashvili noted  the consultants had been provided the opportunity to personally meet and visit representatives of successful projects in Georgia and hear directly from the Government about priorities in its economic development strategy.

The Minister also said he believed the visiting group, and the information they had received, would help “important investors” make “positive decisions” around Georgia.

Hosted by Enterprise Georgia - a state initiative for promoting entrepreneurship - in cooperation with the USAID Economic Security Programme, the consultants held meetings with consulting companies, business associations, donors, international organisations and foreign companies operating in Georgia.

Loren Moss, one of the 13 consultants, described Georgia on Wednesday as an “ideal gateway between Central Europe and Asia”. Dubbing Georgia “a very interesting place for international investors”, fellow consultant Lynda Arsenault also said the country “has a favourable business environment”.
